Monster Hunter: World Review for PlayStation 4

Monster Hunter: World Review for PlayStation 4

Capcom is back with another Monster Hunter game. But this time it is not on Nintendo consoles, but on the other platforms. The first time I heard about Monster Hunter: World on Sony press conference at E3, I was so excited about it. I am always a great fan of the series, which I played on my 3DS, and they always have something unique in gameplay each time.

The game has come with a lot of new gameplay improvements. Monster Hunter: World is pretty much about the research regarding the elder dragon’s movement to the new world. And we as a member of Fifth Fleet have arrived to the new world following elder dragon called Zorah Magdaros. The game has a lot of different elements and Monster Hunter mainly works on crafting and upgrading the weapons and armors. Sometimes I even have got confused of what armor or weapons to use. Monster Hunter: World has introduced me to the Great Swords, Long Swords, Dual Swords, Sword and Shield, Hammers, Axe, Shifting Axe that can turn into a sword and shield, insect glaives, Bows, Gunlance and many more. The game gives you option to play the game in many ways.

Just like the previous games, there is a companion who is like a support – cat which is called Palico. And, you can provide different equipment for Palico as well. The farming is always the important part of the game to improvise, and other than the main quests, bounties, deliveries, optional and investigations are important to keep yourself updated with high graded equipment. The best, most fun I had was with the Insect glaives that give me option of a lot of Air Combos and provide different buffs and heals.

The other real, awesome thing about this game is the multiplayer co-op when hunting monsters. Monster Hunter: World is smart in a way that as soon as you get into a multiplayer game with another player, the difficulty changes and will cause the armor, health and damage of the monster to increase. The other part of the game is that different monsters need different ways to kill them. Each monster has their different ways of attack, resistance and elements. The game just gets more interesting as you unlock more regions while looking for the elder dragon and provides different monsters in different environments and regions.

Monster Hunter: World keeps you attracted toward the game by providing more event quests for special armors and materials as well. The recent event was to get the Horizon Zero Dawn: Aloy armor. Even after the end game, there are multiple things you can do in the game, and I feel that even though I have said a lot, there are still dozens of things to explain regarding Monster Hunter: World. For the uniqueness and innovative gameplay I would definitely give this game 10 stars.
